Description: Akkodis is seeking a Scientist for a Contract job with a client in Waltham, MA. Responsibilities include leading gene therapy research projects and executing proof-of-concept studies to advance therapeutic candidates.Rate Range: $68/hour to $70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Scientist job responsibilities include:Lead and execute research projects focused on identifying and advancing gene therapy candidates for ocular diseases.Design and perform in vitro and in vivo experiments to generate proof-of-concept data and support IND-enabling studies.Apply molecular biology techniques and ocular disease models to develop and validate therapeutic strategies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing scientific insights and supporting project goals.Prepare high-quality scientific documentation, including experimental protocols, technical reports, and presentations.Adapt to shifting priorities and maintain scientific rigor in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.Desired Qualifications:Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field with 3+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 0-2 years of postdoctoral experience.Minimum of 3 years in ocular disease research, preferably in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.Strong molecular biology lab-based skills and hands-on experience with ocular research models.Proven ability to lead research projects and generate high-quality scientific documentation, including protocols and presentations.If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
