Are you ready to drive the renewable future with us?Summary:The Director of Sales oversees establishment, maintenance, and building of relationships with developers, Independent Power Producers, Utilities, and other purchasers of wind turbines in the markets covered by the North American region. This role reports to VP of Business Development and Business Operations, has responsibility over the Sales and Technical Solution team members and directs overall sales strategy while identifying which project leads warrant consideration for our investment. The Director of Sales is expected to lead Turbine Supply Agreements (TSAs) and Services & Maintenance Agreements (SMAs) negotiations and assure contracts meet our criteria for commercial and technical compliance while remaining within our risk allowance.Responsibilities/Duties:
- Leverage relationships to understand marketplace dynamics, competitive trends, stakeholder value levers.
- Utilize market knowledge to direct sales strategies and financial product offerings that maximize the value that we bring.
- Roll out sales offerings to targeted customer base.
- Lead the customer interface from project identification through negotiation and close of TSAs, SMAs, and equity investments/divestments to customers.
- Manage the resources of Sales and Technical Solution teams and pull organizational resources domestically and abroad to advance customer requests, resolve open negotiation points, and progress transactions to close.
- Take high-probability sales, joint venture, and acquisition opportunities through the executive review process to receive approval while abiding by sales guidelines.
- Build resource requirements into the presentation.
- Identify project risks and mitigation strategies.
- Execute toward the budget, reporting on any deviations from the budget or major negotiation milestones.
- Draft final approval form and circulate for final approvals before signing.
- Manage and update the form TSA and SMA to keep pace with industry trends and customer feedback.
- Coordinate within the Business Development Team to develop, maintain, and continuously improve sales operations and processes throughout the entire region through the introduction, adoption, and maximization of online sales software and competitive intelligence tools.
- Utilize strong technical understanding of wind turbines, electricity generation, transmission, and construction to be able to evaluate projects and negotiate with teams of customers.
- Utilize strong understanding of corporate and project finance to promote at stakeholder seminars, conferences, etc.
- Support Contract Account Management team as a customer advocate post-sale, protecting and preserving the relationship.
- Understand and support International’s management system and related policies, in the areas of: Competence, training and awareness, Communication, participation and consultation, documentation version control, Operational control, emergency preparedness and response.
- Ensure all directly associated staff understand and implement our Management systems as it relates to their role
- Regular travel required for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and customer or site visits.
- Promote and enforce safety culture across the range of our employees, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain highest quality, health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Follow (or applicable) QHSE policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensure that projects are designed and built to the highest quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Promote and contribute to continuous improvement of ISO’s program.
- Lead, promote and encourage all directly associated staff to comply with established QHSE management system requirements within 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering from a 4-year accredited university. MBA or master’s degree in a physics or engineering-based discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ industrial experience in capital equipment or service sales. Wind turbine sales and extensive contract negotiation experience are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years team management experience.
- Professional network with access to decision makers at active wind turbine purchasers.

- Ability to understand financial models
- Able to and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time
- Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or/and French is preferred
- The job will report to the Chicago headquartered office and candidates who live in the state of Illinois are preferred.
