Description: Job DescriptionSenior Principal Scientist – R&D NutritionThe Senior Principal Scientist in Nutrition will elevate the use of nutrition within and for the benefit of Kraft Heinz by autonomously leading and designing nutrition science platforms and provide strategic scientific thought leadership for current brands and future innovations.ResponsibilitiesDesign, lead and execute nutrition science platforms:Influence, design and execute nutrition studies to deliver compelling product claims for the consumer to drive growth of brands through nutrition subject matter expertiseEmbrace an agile organization mindsetIdentify and drive the assessment of business implications of emerging science and horizon scanning of ingredients and nutrition to:Develop science based positions and provide scientific guidance to stakeholdersIdentify research opportunitiesInfluence external scientific opinionsLead scientific issues managementTransfer nutrition knowledge through coaching and training of early career scientistsRelationships (External and Internal):Collaboration with internal cross functional teams, including R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, Government Affairs and CommunicationsEstablished network with academia and industry trade groupsQualificationsMinimum Masters degree in Nutrition or Life Sciences (PhD preferred)Registered Dietitian a plus8+ years experience in the food industrySolid proficiency with nutrition claims substantiation and demonstrated application to products (food or supplements)Experience in the design and conducting of clinical research studies preferredKnowledge of North American food regulations (US and Canada) and nutrition policyTrade association experience is requiredStrong written and oral communication skills for technical and non technical audiencesExcellent problem solving, influencing, organization and time management skillsTravel for external meetings and conferences as indicatedOur Total Rewards philosophy is to provide a meaningful and flexible spectrum of programs that equitably support our diverse workforce and their families and complement Kraft Heinz’ strategy and values.New Hire Base Salary Range: $118,400.00 – $148,000.00Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factorsBenefits: Coverage for employees (and their eligible dependents) through affordable access to healthcare, protection, and saving for the future, we offer plans tailored to meet you and your family’s needs.
