Are you a clever, detail-oriented communicator who loves to create compelling marketing emails and website content using HTML and CSS? If so, the Web and Email CMS Specialist position in our Salt Lake Office might be the job for you.We are seeking a Web and Email CMS Specialist to join our Conservation Outreach Section. This role is crucial in bolstering support for wildlife management by highlighting the importance of wildlife to all Utahns. The specialist will be responsible for managing our email marketing platform, which includes maintaining databases, handling email lists, and sanitizing and segmenting customer data. They will also collaborate with the communications team to execute marketing and email campaigns. Additionally, this position involves assisting with updates to our existing Division website, built on a Joomla CMS, and ensuring the DWR online events calendar is current.The Agency:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the email-marketing platform.
  • Create and send DWR marketing and communications emails.
  • Utilize spreadsheets to clean and maintain customer databases.
  • Utilize spreadsheets to update the DWR online calendar with important dates and events.
  • Work with DTS staff to create and manage an API to connect DWR’s customer database with an external email marketing platform.
  • Serve as the backup webmaster on the DWR website, posting content updates and helping to enhance the website’s user-friendliness, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to establish communication priorities.

QualificationsEmail Marketing & Communication

  • Experience with an email marketing platform
  • Experience managing email communication campaigns using an online platform.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Web Development & Content Management

  • Professional experience with HTML and CSS.
  • Professional experience managing a website using a Content Management System.
  • Proficient in using web formats and HTML/CSS.
  • Knowledge of web standards and best practices.

Software & Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.

Problem Solving & Adaptability

  • The willingness to learn new software and techniques.
  • The ability to find creative, pragmatic ways to solve problems and improve processes.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Professional experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferrences may be given to:

  • A bachelor’s degree in web design, marketing, communications or a related field.
  • Proficient with JavaScript and SQL.
  • Professional experience using the Joomla and WordPress content management systems.
  • Professional experience modifying and building web CSS templates.
  • Professional experience working with common web-related libraries.
  • At least two years of professional experience working on a website with more than 1MM annual visits.
  • Professional experience working with customer data and databases.

  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
  • This is a full-time position that requires occasional work on weekends, evenings, and during emergency situations.
  • Overnight travel may also be required occasionally.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation appropriate for employees who handle personally identifiable information.
