DutiesAre you curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about making systems work better? Join our team to play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of environmental permit data from state systems to the EPA. You will work closely with permitting business teams and subject matter experts to support both new and existing data flows. You’ll help troubleshoot complex issues, ensure compliance with federal data standards, and identify long-term, sustainable solutions – not just quick fixes.Your review of nightly data submissions will help spot and resolve emerging problems early, and your contributions will directly support our goal of achieving some of the lowest data error rates in the country. • Business analysis: Work with business teams to identify dataflow needs.
• Liaison with the EPA: Be the primary contact for dataflow standards.
• Data analysis: Review data elements and map them to the EPA schema.
• Troubleshoot the data flow
• Add/Edit validation of existing system elements.
• Manage reference tables.
• Modify Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
• Code fixes or create user stories for other developers in the team.

QualificationsFor detailed information on how we calculate experience, please visit our .Required Qualifications:Four (4) years of experience and/or education as described below:

• Experience in computer application development, which must include demonstrated proficiency in all the following:

• Back-end development expertise in .NET Core or ASP.NET.
• Database Knowledge:

• Solid understanding and practical experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL).
• Experience with database design, stored procedures, triggers, query optimization.
• Familiarity with data migration.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, webservices or middleware integration.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git or SVN.
• Education involving a major study in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or closely related field.

Examples of how to qualify:

• 4 years of experience.
• 3 years of experience AND 30-59 semester or 45-89 quarter college credits.
• 2 years of experience AND 60-89 semester or 90-134 quarter college credits (Associate’s degree).
• 2 years of experience AND completion of a 2-year accredited vocational training program in IT.
• 1 years of experience AND 90-119 semester or 135-179 quarter college credits.
• 1 year of experience AND a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with focus on programming/software development and/or engineering.
• Four years of information technology experience programming web-based software applications or developing information systems architecture using Microsoft development technologies such as C#/ASP.Net, SQL Server, and HTML5/JavaScript for mobile applications. At least two of the four years of experience should be within the last 4 years.
• Professional experience programming, maintenance and/or support work for moderate risk software applications and databases.
