Position SummaryPositions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involved in the support, business process administration and maintenance of the State of Oklahoma’s enterprise human resources information system, Workday. The Workday ecosystem includes core Human Capital Management, recruiting, talent management, benefits, time and absence, learning, payroll, VNDLY, reporting, and more. This critical position leads the design and implementation of Workday solutions for the State of Oklahoma. Incumbents collaborate with leaders both internally and statewide, HR teams, IT staff, and vendors to craft high-performing, scalable, and secure Workday solutions.Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, configuration, and integration of Workday solutions in various modules with current or future products, including but not limited to HCM (Human Capital Management), Payroll, Recruiting, Talent Management, Learning, Benefits, Prism, Extend, and Adaptive Planning.
  • Works with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable and effective technical solutions.
  • Provides expert advice on Workday functionality, data model design, integrations, and security to guide teams through implementation projects.
  • Oversees the integration of Workday with other enterprise systems and applications, ensuring smooth data flow and system interoperability.
  • Develops and implements Workday best practices, governance frameworks, and documentation to ensure successful deployments and ongoing system enhancements.
  • Collaborates with the internal Workday security team to ensure proper security and compliance measures are in place, including user roles, data access, and privacy regulations.
  • Supports change management and training initiatives for end users, providing guidance on system adoption and process improvement.
  • Stays current with the latest Workday features, product updates, and industry trends to ensure the state is leveraging Workday’s capabilities effectively.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.Minimum QualificationsRequirements include:

  • An associate’s degree in human resources, information technology, business, or a related field, plus seven (7) years of Workday experience which includes three (3) years of Workday experience in Workday solutions architecture, implementation, or integration capacity, and three (3) years of experience in project management OR;
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology, business, or a related field, plus five (5) years of Workday experience which includes three (3) years of Workday experience in Workday solutions architecture, implementation, or integration capacity, and three (3) years of experience in project management.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

  • Strong knowledge of Workday’s architecture, data model, security framework, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to apply Agile project management practices and principles to work assignments.
  • Use creative approaches to determine resolution of issues
  • Strong understanding of HR, finance, and payroll business processes.
  • One or more Workday Pro certifications.
  • Data analytics, compliance, human resources, and project management coursework and/or work experience.
